  1. Margot Fonteyn real name is Margaret Evelyn Hookham and her nickname is Peggy. She was born 18 May 1919, Reigate, Surrey, England, UK and died 21 February 1991, Panama City, Panama. She died from cancer. In her early years she was enrolled with the Royal Ballet School which was lucky for her because they were looking for a young British dancer to groom as the new Prima Ballerina. In 1962 Margot was thinking of retirement (she was 43) from ballet when she met Rudolf Nureyev who had fled from the Soviet Union. Young Rudolf Nureyev had an impact on Margot life and together they created some wonderful performances.
Rudolf Hametovich Nureyev is born 17 March 1938, Russia and died 6 Jan 1993, Paris. He was a Russian ballet dancer and studied ballet in Leningrad for 4 years. After he joined the Kirov Ballet as a soloist. He danced as a guest artist with many companies, especially the Royal Ballet, where he was partnered with Margot Fonteyn. His performances had romance, technique and classical music in them which made him an international star. He was also aa choreographer and he choreographed the new versions of Romeo and Juliet, Manfred and The Nutcracker.
